Look at these sumptuous colours! ( Dining Room on the Garden, P. Bonnard, 1934 )- I wonder sometimes if the objects on this painting have no other purpose than feeding us with glorious pigments ( it is a dining table after all!) ; even the character on the right seems gobbled up by the wall’s brownish orange .
