An invincible red arrow: the Proletariat is invading the city. A work of Luigi Russolo fom the present exhibition ‘Futurisme et Cubisme’ in Centre Pompidou, Paris (till Jan.26).
What strikes me is the arrow ( and the people)’s direction; “looking forward”, is usually represented by a left to right direction in occidental culture ( see most advertisements ).
Perhaps the painter wished to emphasize the obliteration of the hated past or – now, who is thinking that Proletariat has a foible for the Left? :)
