Joseph Stella, The Brooklyn Bridge

‘The Brooklyn Bridge’ is one of Joseph Stella‘s most successful paintings, if judging by the number of time I found it reproduced on the Web. The Italian-American artist, labelled as futurist, made a serie of these highly geometrical bridges.
Doesn’t it look like a stained-glass window to you, where modernity substitutes for the religious?

Note: I just read that Encarta is to be discontinued by Microsoft in late October. I found their page on Stella extremely well done, with multiple “clickable” references. So, I am leaving it here.
