Emily Carr, Victoria BC, Canada 1871-1945.
She builds strong, stylised landscapes, with a style of her own that was influenced though by The Group of Seven, and notably Lawren Harris (see her ‘Tree Trunk’ and Harris ‘North Shore Lake Superior 1926’ ; see Harris also 3 posts below).

One of her main interest was the First Nation’s culture.
