To make these photograms, one needs no camera, only photographic paper plus object plus light source ( in that order).
The result is a somewhat mysterious, surreal image ( and I suppose, a non-predictable one; it must have been fun!). (Have a look at Maisel’s work with museum x-rays here for another kind of unusual effect).
These two dreamy scenes are the work of Birgit Juergenssen (Vienna 1949-2003).
The site (bilingual: german-english) describes her as a “multifaceted” ardent feminist artist “liberated” by Surrealism.
(The term “rayograms” she is using comes from the famous photographer Man Ray).
